14th April, was the 124th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. Our President, Shri Pranabh Miukherji payed homage to the statue of the 1990 posthumous Bharat Ratna achiever at the Parliament house lawns. The Vice President, Sh. M. Hamid Ansari and various other Political Party leaders paid tribute to his Statue.
Dr. B. Ambedkar, a Socialist and Economic Reformist, campaigned against discrimination of Dalits, caste discrimination, and ‘untouchability’. As the first Law Minister of Free India and Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, Dr. Ambedkar drafted India’s Constitution.
He Passed away in 1952, after making high contribution to the formation of India. To mark his 125th birth anniversary, Political Parties have planned year- long celebrations. Google came up with a doodle to mark the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar. The doodle which featured a picture of Babasaheb, is said to have been appearing in 7 countries apart from India, in 3 different continents. Argentina, Chile, India, Ireland, Peru, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom are the countries with the doodle visible on the home page.
