Edwar Lugu of Patriotic Front sworn in as the new President of Zambia. He secured 48.3%of the ballot in Zambia’s 150 constituencies. His opponent Hakainde Hichilema of United Party for National Development, received about 46.7% of the votes.
Mr. Lungu headed both the Justice and Defense Ministries in the previous government. He will serve out the remainder of President Michael Sata’s (died on October 2014) term until new elections in the fall of 2016.
