Union Education Minister inaugurates two-day Virtual International Akhand

On January 7-8 2021, the two-day Virtual International Akhand Conference ‘EDUCON 2020’ held which was inaugurated by Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Ministry of Education (MoE). The Chief Guest of Valedictory Ceremony was Prof Dhirendra Pal Singh, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

  • This 31-hour long marathon International Conference was the first of its kind conference in India where global scholars continuously explored the possibilities of use of ICT (Information and communications technology) in the higher education to promote quality education in India.


Envisioning Education for Transforming Youth to Restore Global Peace


Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) in collaboration with the Global Educational Research Association (GERA) under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice Chancellor, CUPB & Padma Shri Dr. Mahendra Sodha (Patron, GERA).


Global perspectives on various paradigms of National Education Policy (NEP)-2020

Key Points:

–The conference intended to transform the India’s learning system to meet world standard by empowering youth with the global competencies.

–It also helpe the prospective teachers to become familiar with different technologies.

— Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ gave the mantra of ‘Perform, Reform and Transform’ for successfully implementing all new imperatives of NEP-2020.

-Eminent educationists shared their views on important topics like the Relevance of Ancient Education System in 21st Century, Skill training programmes for future graduates etc, and at the same time will discuss the issues, challenges and opportunities for education of a future generation.

–It also provided a platform for discussions on emerging trends in education viz., likely scenario of higher education and school education by 2050, developing disruptive technologies for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Education, training youth for strategic future jobs in Universities, skill training programme for future graduates and relevance of ancient education system in 21st century.
