On December 21, 2019 the President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind, launched a mobile app named “Telangana Red Cross” of the Red Cross Society of India in Hyderabad, Telangana. The app was launched during the President’s visit to southern parts of India. His visits were to Telangana, Puducherry, Kanyakumari(Tamil Nadu) from December 20-28, 2019.Telangana Red Cross app:
i.App development: The app was developed by the Telangana Centre for Good Governance in less than 3 months. It is made available in all languages. Access to blood bank and red Cross membership will be made easy through this app.
ii.Members present: During the launch, Telangana Chief Minister KalvakuntlaChandra Sekhar Rao; Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya; Minister of state(MoS) for Home affairs Kishan Reddy and other members attended the event.
Details of president’s visit:
- Visit to Puducherry: The president Shri Kovind, visited the Union Territory (UT) of Puducherry where he addressed the 27th convocation of the Pondicherry University(PU).
- Visit to TamilNadu: He visited Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu and visited the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra there.
- Visit to Secunderabad: Apart from the mobile app launch in Telangana, the President also hosted a reception for senior dignitaries, including ministers, officials, leading citizens, academics, etc. at the Rashtrapati Nilayam, Secunderabad, Telangana.
