Ministry of Health launches a CSIR National Healthcare Supply Chain Portal ‘Aarogyapath’

Aarogyapath, a web-based solutionOn June 12, 2020, Shri Rajesh Bhushan, the officer on Special Duty of  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched a National Healthcare Supply Chain Portal Aarogyapath (https://www.aarogyapath.in) to provide real-time availability of critical healthcare supplies with the involvement of manufacturers, suppliers and customers.

  • The portal, developed by CSIR team led by Dr Anjan Ray (Director of CSIR-IIP(Council of Scientific and Industrial Research -Indian Institute of Petroleum DehraDun, Uttarakhand) in partnership with Sarvodaya Infotech and institutional users, will address the national needs in the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic scenario as well as the future normal scenarios.

Involvement of manufacturers, suppliers & customers:

  • This public platform will help customers in tackling a stock of issues such as dependence on limited suppliers, time-consuming processes to identify good quality products, limited access to suppliers who can supply standardized products at affordable prices within a time period, lack of awareness about the latest product launches, etc.
  • Further this platform will help manufacturers & suppliers to bridge the gap
    between them and key demand centers like nearby pathological laboratories, medical stores, hospitals, etc and to last reach of customers through their wide network.
  • It will also support business expansion, create awareness about the demand for newage technologies & will reduce wastage of resources due to inefficient forecasting and excess manufacturing.
