The 6th International day of Yoga (IDY) is to be celebrated on 21st June and a National event organized on this day is to be held at Leh, Ladakh (Union Territory). Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of Ayush announces that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the event held at Leh.
- This day is celebrated to create awareness across the world about the benefits of yoga and to practice yoga on a daily basis.
- The Programmes on IDY will be organized by industry bodies, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and educational bodies Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), University Grants Commission (UGC).
International day of Yoga (IDY):
International yoga day is observed every year on 21st June. The first international day of yoga was celebrated in the year 2015. Yoga is a Physical, Mental and Spiritual practice which originated in India. The United Nations officially announced 21st June as the International day of Yoga.
Ayush I.T. awards 2019:
Ayush I.T. awards for 2019 were also announced by the Ayush Minister on 11th March 2020. This award is given for the Excellence in Information Technology (IT) in AYUSH Sector.
- The awardees are chosen for their innovative and effective performance in the Field of Information Technology.
- Category: The awards will be given in two categories, Gold Award with a cash price of Rs. 1 lakh and Silver Award with a cash price of Rs.50,000.
