Bidyut Chakraborty, A well-known Assamese Filmmaker and Actor, breathed his last breath at a Private Hospital in Guwahati on 15th April. He was 55 Years old.
He had bagged the Indira Gandhi award for Best First Film of a Director in 1996 for his film “Rag-Birag”. He made his debut through a small role in Bhabendra Nath Saikia’s “Anirban” in 1981, and then later went on to acting and making a lot of Films. His famous works are Raag-Biraag, Goon Goon Gaane Gaane, Dwaar, etc.
Chakraborty ‘s last film was Dwar (2012) which was based on a short story by Swarnakamal winning film critic Apurba Sharma.
