Deepinder Goyal, Founder and (CEO) Chief Executive Officer of food ordering platform Zomato has virtually- appointed Mohit Gupta, the CEO- of its food delivery business as one of its co-founder.Â
Key Points:
i.About Mohit Gupta: He had joined Zomato in 2018, from online travel portal MakeMyTrip where he was serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
ii.Other co founders: In the year 2019, Gaurav Gupta, COO of Zomato, was also given the title co-founder. Totally, at present the Zomato has 4 co founders namely- Goyal, Gunjan Patidar, Gaurav Gupta and Mohit Gupta.
iii.Fact 1: Patidar had quit the company after a 10-year stint in March 2018 and has started a mental fitness startup Mindhouse.
iv.The move comes at a time when order volumes for Zomato and rival Swiggy have hit an all-time low due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, Jeff Bezos, (CEO of Amazon), has started a food delivery service in selected areas of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
