NASA has installed World’s first zero gravity 3-dimensional printer on International Space Station (ISS). It will help the astronauts to experiment with additive manufacturing in microgravity.
The printer was designed and built by Made In Space for NASA and installed by NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore. The printer was launched in September 2014 aboard the SpaceX 4 resupply mission to the ISS.
The items printed aboard the space station will eventually be brought down to Earth for comparison with identical objects printed by the machine before its launch.
