World Meteorological Day is annually held on or around March 23 to remember the World Meteorological Organization’s establishment on that date in 1950

Martyrs day
March 23, 2016 is declared as the Martyrs day in India to remember the sacrifice and pay homage to the Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru who were fought for India against the British rule for independence.
- It was on this day, in 1931 that they were martyred in Lahore jail and cremated on the banks of SatlujRiver at Hussainiwala in Ferozpur district of Punjab.
