Explanation :
A’s one day work=1/5*1/3=1/15
B’s=1/30
A+B=1/10
8/5th can be done in (8/5)*10=16days

8. Two pipes A and B can fill a tank in 20 and 60 hr respectively. both  the pipes are opened to fill the tank but when the tank was 2/3rd full a leak develop in the tank through which 1/4th water supplied by both pipes goes out. Find the total time taken to fill the tank.

Explanation :
Time taken to full 2/3rd= 2/3{20*60/20+60}= 10hr
Time taken to fill 1/3rd=5hr
Now 1/4th water drain out .
{1-1/4}=3/4 water supplied by A and B
Actual  time to fill the remaining 1/3rd water=5*4/3=20/3hr
Total time=10+20/3= 50/3=16 (2/3)
