1. Castigation – दंड
Meaning – harsh verbal reprimand
Synonyms – chastisement, penalization, penalty, punishment, sanction.
Usage – the act of punishing.
2. Dollop – बड़ा टूकड़ा
Meaning – a large, shapeless mass of something, especially soft food.
Synonyms – blob, glob, gobbet, lump, clump, ball, mound; informalgob, wodge.
Usage – great dollops of cream.
3. Reverie – भावना
Meaning – a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream.
Synonyms – daydream, daydreaming, trance, fantasy, vision, fancy, hallucination, musing; inattention, inattentiveness, wool-gathering, preoccupation, obliviousness, engrossment, absorption, self-absorption, absent-mindedness, abstraction, lack of concentration.
Usage – a knock on the door broke her reverie.
4. Encomium – गुणगान
Meaning – a speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly.
Synonyms – eulogy, speech of praise, panegyric, paean, accolade, tribute, testimonial, compliment; praise, acclaim, acclamation, homage, extolment; rarelaudation, eulogium.
Usage – the poet produced an appropriate encomium after the king’s death.
5. Evocative – विचारोत्तेजक
Meaning – bringing strong images, memories, or feelings to mind.
Synonyms – reminiscent, suggestive, redolent; resonant with; expressive, vivid, graphic, powerful, haunting, moving, poignant.
Usage – dark interiors are highly evocative of past centuries.
6. Cessation – समाप्ति
Meaning – the fact or process of ending or being brought to an end.
Synonyms – end, ending, termination, stopping, halting, ceasing, finish, finishing, stoppage, closing, closure, close, conclusion, winding up, discontinuation, discontinuance, breaking off, abandonment, interruption, suspension, cutting short; pause, break, respite, let-up.
Usage – the cessation of hostilities.
7. Treasure – खजाना
Meaning – a quantity of precious metals, gems, or other valuable objects.
Synonyms – riches, valuables, jewels, gems, gold, silver, precious metals, money, cash; wealth, fortune; treasure trove.
Usage – the ransom was to be paid in diamonds and treasure.
8. Embellish – संवारना
Meaning – make (something) more attractive by the addition of decorative details or features.
Synonyms – decorate, adorn, ornament, dress, dress up, furnish; beautify, enhance, enrich, grace; trim, garnish, gild, varnish; brighten up, ginger up; deck, bedeck, festoon, emblazon, bespangle; informaldo up, do out, jazz up, bedizen, caparison, furbelow.
Usage – weapons were often embellished with precious metal.
9. Scorched – सूखा हुआ
Meaning – burn the surface of (something) with flame or heat.
Synonyms – burn, sear, singe, char, blacken, discolour; raretorrefy.
Usage – surrounding houses were scorched by heat from the blast.
10. Percussion – टक्कर
Meaning – the striking of one solid object with or against another with some degree of force.
