Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has been named winner of this year’s readers’ poll for TIME ‘Person of the Year’, securing more than 16 per cent of the almost five million votes cast. But Modi did not make it to the final eight selected by TIME for the annual ‘Person of the Year’ title.
The top five choices from the magazine’s reader poll results are,
- Modi finished first with 16.2 percent of the vote.
- The protesters in Ferguson, Mo., finished second with 9.2 percent.
- Hong Kong protest leader Joshua Wong was third with 7 percent.
- Yousafzai, the youngest-ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, was fourth with 4.9 percent.
- And all the doctors and nurses treating the Ebola outbreak were fifth with 4.5 percent of the vote.
