Online test preparation platform Toppr.com has acquired EasyPrep for an undisclosed amount. The Mumbai based Toppr.com was founded by Zishaan Hayath and Hemanth Goteti, both IIT Bombay graduates in 2013, and is aided by private equity firms like SAIF Partners and Helion Venture Partners. It raised close to $2 million in 2014.
EasyPrep, also a platform founded by ex-IITians Vivek Sharma and Ankit Saraswat, is a online/offline platform where teachers, schools and educational institutes can prepare exam papers for classroom teaching, assignments and providing an aid for students to prepare for competitive examinations.
With EasyPrep.’s team on their side, Toppr.com feels they can do much more in improving the service they provide to the Students to face Competitive examinations and make their stand firm in the industry. The students signing in for the entrance exam preparation within the 12thgrade is valued at $8 Billion and there is a growth of 20% every year, Toppr .com says. And also they get more than 40% of their students from smaller cities and that is their main market area.
