The Sex ratio in Gujarat has fallen significantly from 920 in 2001 to 919 in 2011.It is a fall against the overall 10 points increase in the average of sex ratio of the Nation.

- The last place is occupied by Surat with just 787 preceded by Ahmedabad with 904
- The decline in the sex ratio was mainly due to Migration from within and outside the state to urban areas

- However on the contrast in Gujarat it has increased from 883 in 2001 to 890 in 2011
