On 18th May 2020, Madhya Pradesh launched Charan Paduka campaign, first of its kind initiative for migrant labourers passing through the states in which barefoot migrants are provided with shoes and slippers. This campaign is conducted by the Police in most of the places.
Key Points:
i.The Charan Paduka campaign is to support the migrant labourers travelling to their home and to provide footwear like shoes and slippers to reduce their pain.
ii.The campaign started in the Rau Police Station of Indore by the initiative of the Station In-charge Dinesh Verma.
iii.The campaign is spreaded in many parts of Madhya Pradesh like Damoh, Umaria and Sagar.
iv.The SP of Umaria Sachin Sharma mentioned that the police are trying to reduce the pain of the migrant labourers and send them respectfully to their homes.
