January 25 is observed as ‘National Voters’ Day‘ every year since 2011 to to encourage young voters to take part in the political process and to mark the Election Commission’s foundation day. The theme for the year 2015 is Easy Registration, Easy Correction.
The Chief Election Commissioner has dedicated the day to every Indian citizen, irrespective of religion, race, caste, community, language, region or socio-economic considerations.

- Election commission was a single member body until 1989, but later two additional Election Commissioners were added.
