H.E Gen (Retd) V K Sigh, Minister of state for External Affairs of India during his visit to Kuala Lumpur to attend the ASEAN-India Foreign Affairs meet and H.E. U Wunna Maung Lwin, Minister for Foreign Affairs for Myanmar, witnessed the signing an agreement with Myanmar to set up a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING (CESDT) in Myanmar on August 6, 2015.
• The Agreement was signed by Dr B.K. Murthy, Executive Director, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), NOIDA and H.E. U Aung Lynn, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Union of Myanmar.
• This project will be implemented by C-DAC, through the financial support of ASEAN-Indian Cooperation Fund.
• This project envisages the setting up of a state of the art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre, imparting intensive teachers training, extending support for ICT curriculum development, and will be accredited as an authorized center of C-DAC.
• This project is yet another example of India’s strong commitment to assisting Myanmar, a close friend and neighbor, in capacity building and human resource development, aimed at helping them in narrowing the infra-ASEAN development gap.
