1. Smattering – गिरोह

Meaning – a slight superficial knowledge of a language or subject.

Synonyms – bit, small amount, little, modicum, touch, soupçon; superficial knowledge, nodding acquaintance, passing acquaintance, rudiments, elements, basics; informalsmidgen, smidge, tad.

Usage – Edward had only a smattering of Welsh

2. Desolate – उजाड़

Meaning – (of a place) uninhabited and giving an impression of bleak emptiness.

Synonyms – barren, bleak, stark, bare, dismal, grim; desert, waste, arid, sterile; wild, windswept, inhospitable, exposed.

Usage – the loch was bounded by desolate moorlands.

3. Recalcitrant – आज्ञा न माननेवाला

Meaning – having an obstinately uncooperative attitude towards authority or discipline.

Usage – a class of recalcitrant fifteen-year-olds.

4. Galore – बहुतायत

Meaning – in abundance.

Synonyms – aplenty, in abundance, in profusion, in great quantity, in large numbers, by the dozen; to spare; everywhere, all over (the place); informala gogo, by the truckload, by the shedload.

Usage – there were prizes galore for everything.

5. Pittance – देन

Meaning – a very small or inadequate amount of money.

Synonyms – a very small amount, a tiny amount, an insufficient amount, next to nothing, very little; informalpeanuts, chicken feed, slave wages, a shoestring.

Usage – the musicians were paid a pittance.

6. Rampage – हिसात्मक आचरण

Meaning – (especially of a large group of people) move through a place in a violent and uncontrollable manner.

Synonyms – rush wildly/madly, riot, run riot, go on the rampage, run amok, go berserk, storm, charge, tear; rave; informalsteam.

Usage – several thousand demonstrators rampaged through the city.

7. Enervate – कमज़ोर

Meaning – make (someone) feel drained of energy or vitality.

8. Tyranny – उत्पीड़न

Meaning – cruel and oppressive government or rule.

Synonyms – despotism, absolutism, absolute power, autocracy, dictatorship, undemocratic rule, reign of terror, totalitarianism, Fascism; oppression, suppression, repression, subjugation, enslavement; authoritarianism, high-handedness, imperiousness, bullying, harshness, strictness, severity, cruelty, brutality, ruthlessness, injustice.

Usage – refugees fleeing tyranny and oppression.

9. Lambaste – कोड़े से मारना

Meaning – criticize (someone or something) harshly.

Synonyms – criticize, castigate, chastise, censure, condemn, take to task, harangue, attack, rail at, rant at, revile, fulminate against, haul/call over the coals; upbraid, scold, reprimand, rebuke, chide, reprove, admonish, berate; informalrap someone’s knuckles, slap someone’s wrist, lay into, pitch into, tear into, lace into, dress down, give someone a dressing-down, carpet.

Usage – they lambasted the report as a gross distortion of the truth.

10. Bestial – वहशी

Meaning – of or like an animal or animals.

Synonyms – animal, beast-like, animalistic; rarezoic, theriomorphic, theroid.

Usage – Darwin’s revelations about our bestial beginnings.
