Eva Morales won the Bolivian President Election for the consecutive third time. He was first elected in 2005. He belongs to Aymara indigenous group and he is the first Boilivian President from the minority group. By principle, he is a democratic socialist and he is the head of the Movement of Socialism (MAS) Political Party. Before entering politics, he served as the leader of the coco-growers union.
On his victory, the Financial Times remarked that Morales represented “one of the world’s most popular leaders”. According to The Guardian “Morales is on track to become Bolivia’s longest-serving leader consecutively in office, eclipsing 19th-century Marshal Andrés de Santa Cruz, a founder of the republic in power from 1829–1839”.
