About Homeopathy:

i.Homeopathy, also known as homeopathic medicine, is derived from the Greek words homeo, which means similar, and pathos, which means suffering.

ii.It does not use drugs or surgery. It is based on the principle of “Similia Similibus Curentur” or ‘let likes be treated by likes.’

  • The idea is that a substance that causes certain symptoms in a healthy person can help treat similar symptoms in someone who is sick.

iii.Homeopathy treatment uses highly diluted substances to stimulate the body’s natural healing process.

In India:

i.Homoeopathy came to India as early as 1810 when Dr. Samuel Hahnemann visited India and treated patients.

ii.The Ayush systems of medicine include Indian systems of medicines like Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homoeopathy.

iii.The Ministry of Ayush was formed on 9 November 2014 with a vision of revitalizing ancient medicinal wisdom and fostering the growth and dissemination of Ayush systems of healthcare.
