  • The 27th World Egg Day (World Egg Day 2023) was observed on 13th October 2023.
  • The World Egg Day 2022 was observed on 14th October 2022. The World Egg Day 2024 will fall on 11th October 2024.


The theme for World Egg Day 2023 is “Eggs for a healthy future.”

i.World Egg Day was isolated by the International Egg Commission(IEC), the only organisation that represents the global egg industry

ii.The decision to annually observe the second Friday of October as “World Egg Day” was made during the IEC Confence held in Vienna, Austria in 1996.

iii.The first ever World Egg Day was observed on 11th October 1996.


i.The World Egg day makes aware that the egg is an “incredibly unique, accessible and affordable source of protein and essential nutrients.”

ii.It highlights the importance of eggs in food security in areas with limited access to other protein sources.

iii.It supports the egg industry, which is a vital part of the global economy.

About Eggs:

i.Eggs are a great source of protein, vitamins and minerals.

ii.They are an important part of a healthy and balanced diet and can help to improve the nutritional status of people across the world.
