World Accreditation Day(WAD) is annually observed across the globe on 9th June by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation(ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) to promote the value of accreditation.
The day is a global initiative of ILAC and IAF celebrated to create awareness about the importance of accreditation among the stakeholders.
The theme of WAD 2021 is “Accreditation: Supporting the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.
WAD2021:
i.WAD2021 focuses on how accreditation is used to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals(SDG’s) of the United Nation(UN).
ii.The UN’s SDG’s addresses global challenges like poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation and justice.
Events:
National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), along with the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) has conducted a webinar on two SDG’s: SDG Goal 3: Good Health and Well Being and SDG Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitization.
Accreditation:
Accreditation is the third party attestation related to a conformity assessment body conveying the formal demonstration of its competence to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks.
