Signatories

The signing of MoU was witnessed by the Head of Development Partnership & Reconstruction Wing of the Embassy of India to Nepal & Project Director of CLPIU (Building) of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).

  • The contract for reconstruction of 3 cultural heritage projects was signed by India on February 11, 2021.

Key Points

  • All 3 Buildings were damaged during the 2015 earthquake.
  • India is undertaking reconstruction of 28 cultural sector projects under the Indian reconstruction grant of which 6 contracts have already been awarded & reconstructed.
  • India has committed a total of USD 50 Million (NPR 5800 Million) for conservation, restoration & reconstruction of 28 cultural heritage sites in 8 districts of Nepal

Other Contracts

Contracts┬аwere also signed for conservation & retrofitting of Seto Machindranath Temple, Construction of Dharamshala at Budhanilkantha Temple and┬аconservation & development of Kumari Chhen & Kumari Niwas in Nepal.
