The Global Corruption Index 2014 has been released, in which India ranks 85th position among 175 countries in comparison to 94th position last year. According to the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) report “the CPI score for India increased by 2 points in 2014 from last year (2013) score, helping India’s rank move up to 85 in 2014 from 94 in 2013”. India’s scored 38 as compared to the score of 36 last year.
Denmark occupies its position as the least corrupt country in 2014 with a score of 92 while North Korea and Somalia shared the last place, scoring just 8.
China has moved to the 100th place, down from 80th last year (2013), while Pakistan and Nepal occupied 126th position. Bangladesh was at the 145th and Bhutan at the 30th in the global ranking. Sri Lanka occupied the 85th position, sharing with India Afghanistan occupied the 172th position.
