The UK based British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has released the controversial documentary – India’s Daughter, which is about the 16th December Delhi gang-rape despite Government’s ban. The film was due to be aired on International Women’s Day but was brought forward.
The Central Government has refused to allow it to be released in India because it objected to the film-makers releasing it without their approval. The interview created uproar in Parliament. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the media not to broadcast the documentary.
The Delhi court has also stopped the media from publishing, broadcasting, telecasting or uploading the controversial interview on the internet. The Union Home Ministry had asked BBC not to broadcast the documentary anywhere. The BBC said that it would not telecast the documentary in India. But the interview was released in UK on the night of March 4.
