Winners of Sahitya Translation Prize 2024: Total 22 Indian Languages have been Selected

2024 Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation AnnouncedIn March 2025, the Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi under the Chairmanship of its President, Madhav Kaushik approved the selection of 22 books in 22 languages for the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize 2024, during the meeting held at Rabindra Bhavan in New Delhi, Delhi.

  • The books were selected based on the recommendations made by the selection committees of 3 members each in the concerned languages as per the rules and procedure framed for the purpose.
  • This year, no translation prize has been declared in the Urdu language and translation prize in Nepali and Sanskrit will be declared at later stage.

About Sahitya Translation Prize 2024:

i.The prize relates, to translations 1st published during the 5 years before to the year immediately preceding the year of Prize for Translation i.e. between January, 2018 and December 31, 2022.

ii.The recipient of the prize will receive an amount of Rs 50,000 and a copper plaque.
