AP Signed 1st of its Kind MoU with Microsoft to Provide Skill Development Training to Students & Unemployed Youths

AP-ties-up-with-Microsoft-to-trainThe Government of Andhra Pradesh(AP) and Microsoft Corporation virtually signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer skill development training to around 1.6 lakh students and unemployed youths across more than 300 colleges and skill development centres.

This is the biggest and first of its kind initiative by a state government to cover all the graduates of the state.

Aim:

To provide a complete skilling solution and empower the State’s youths with next-generation digital skills.

Features of the Collaboration:

i.Microsoft will collaborate with the Higher Education department to provide scalable skilling experience which includes, access to the 40 courses and certifications on Microsoft’s learning resource centre, Microsoft Learn which covers emerging technologies like cloud computing, AI, data sciences, IoT and M365.

ii.The association will provide industry recognition to students through the certification courses of Microsoft and LinkedIn.

iii.Around 8600 courses on LinkedIn will be provided to the students and youths to develop their technical skills along with business knowledge and soft skills.

iv.Each learner will be provided with a Free 100 USD Azure Credit for practical experiential learning and certification to become a Microsoft certified professional.

On December 24, 2020, The Directorate General of Training (DGT) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Microsoft and NASSCOM Foundation signed an agreement to provide Digitized Blended content with self-learning digital tutorials and handholding from teachers for Industrial Training Institutes(ITIs) students to increase employability.
