Subject – Impact of irrelevant news through social media
Sir ,
I write this letter to express my concern over the impact of insignificant and extraneous news which disseminates through social media. It has become the cause of unrest and violence among the masses.
The news regarding spiritual leaders and celebrities are being spread rampantly without even giving a thought. The false information results in rampages which results to huge loss of life and property. Some people deliberately wish to cause ruckus spread such news. Mob lynchings are becoming a common scenario these days with respect to the ones who carry cows and fake news through social media gets spread and people scruple every person carrying cows and take law in their hands.
Even terrorist activities and fake news get spread through social media like-whatsapp , facebook etc. and then a wrong approach is made towards certain policeman.
For instance in rape cases , deliberately photographs of rapists are being shared which results into more destructive situation leading to violence.
Even in case of news which gets telecasted , there is hardly any monitoring and planning , it gets circulated and then becomes viral. It is a dismal situation that media houses work as per rich and powerful people. Since media has an important role to play , it should bring the real picture about every topic- Government policies , terrorist activities , black money , law breakers etc. But unfortunately media has become a publicity and sales promotion gimmick
I appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter. Moreover , the appeal is to the people not to trust blindly to such channels or other media formats. I hope you will give space to my views in your reputed daily to spread awareness.
