On 19th May 2020, Indian Steel Association (ISA) unanimously appointed Dilip Oommen, CEO of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India as the new President for the next two years with immediate effect after T V Narendran, CEO of TATA Steel stepped down on May 1, before the end of his term in August. This was decided in the Extra Ordinary Boards Meeting of ISA held on May 19, 2020.

iv.TV Narendran, CEO of TATA steels stepped down as the president of ISA while the TAT steels withdrew its membership from the ISA due to a dispute over iron ore mining rights with JSW Steel.
