Laxmikant Parsekar sworn-in as chief minister of the Goa after Manohar Parrikar who was called for a Union cabinet berth.
Parsekar, 58, an MLA from Mandrem, administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Mridula Sinha at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan, along with nine other ministers– seven from BJP and two from its alliance partner Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).
The 58-year-old leader, with strong RSS connection, is the 22nd Chief Minister of the politically volatile state and 12th person to hold the post. Branded a ‘rebel’, Parsekar started his political journey in the 1980s.
