In May 2025, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced the winners of AIFF annual awards 2024-25 during the award ceremony held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
- Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) Defender from West Bengal (WB), Subhasish Bose was named the AIFF Men’s Footballer of the year for 2024-25. He became the 1st player from WB to win this title since Nabi (2012).
- While, East Bengal Football Club (FC) forward player from Odisha, Soumya Guguloth was named the AIFF Women’s Footballer of the Year for 2024-25. With this, she became the 1st player from Telangana to win AIFF Women’s Player of the Year title.

Kalyan Chaubey, President of AIFF; Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister (Dy CM) of Odisha; Tankadhar Tripathy, President of Football Association of Odisha, among others were present during the event.
About Subhasish Bose:
i.Subhasish Bose who captained MBSG, played a significant role in guiding his club to both the Indian Super League (ISL) League Shield and the ISL Championship title in the 2024-25 season. He also helped MBSG with 12 out of 14 clean sheets in their record-breaking season.
ii.He became only the 7th defender to win the AIFF Men’s Player of the Year title after Sandesh Jhingan (2021), Syed Rahim Nabi (2012), Gouramangi Singh (2010), Surkumar Singh (2006), Deepak Mondal (2002) and VP Sathyan (1995).
About Soumya Guguloth:
i.Soumya Guguloth emerged as a standout performer in the 2024–25 Indian Women’s League (IWL), netting 9 goals for East Bengal FC. Her impressive tally made her the third-highest scorer of the season and the top Indian goal-scorer in the league.
ii.She also scored the decisive goal in East Bengal’s 1–0 victory over Odisha FC in April 2025, clinching the club’s maiden IWL title.
Highlights of AIFF Awards 2024-25:
i.Brison Deuben Fernandes, midfielder of FC Goa was awarded the AIFF Promising Men’s Player of the Year for 2024-25. He had a breakthrough season for FC Goa, scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists in the ISL.
- He was named the ‘Emerging Player’ of ISL season for 2024-25.
ii.Toijam Thoibisana Chanu, became the 1st centre-back ever to win AIFF Promising Women’s Player of the Year Award for 2024-25. She commanded the Sribhumi FC backline as they finished at 3rd position in the IWL as a newly-promoted side.
- He made her senior India debut in December 2024 against Maldives.
iii.Elangbam Panthoi was awarded the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award. Earlier, she won the Promising Women’s Player Award in 2017, represented India at 5 matches in last year.
iv.Vishal Kaith of MBSG was awarded the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award following a historic and record-breaking campaign between the sticks for MBSG.
v.Khalid Jamil, Jamshedpur FC head coach was awarded the AIFF Men’s Coach of the Year for 2nd consecutive time. He led the Red Miners team to the semi-finals of the Kalinga Super Cup final.
vi.Sujata Kar, who guided newly-promoted Sribumi FC to secure 3rd position in IWL (2024-25), was named as the AIFF Women’s Coach of the Year.
vii.Ramachandran Venkatesh who has been an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Referee since 2022, was awarded the AIFF male Referee of the Year title for second consecutive time.
- So far, he has officiated 17 matches in the ISL 2024-25 and has also officiated international matches in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, AFC U17 Asian Cup 2024, among others.
viii.Tekcham Ranjita Devi, who has been working as a International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) International Referee for last 7 years, was awarded the AIFF Female Referee of the Year title.
- Other than officiating in national-level tournaments like: the IWL and Rajmata Jijabai Trophy for Senior Women’s NFC, she refereed internationally in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asia Cup 2024 and FIFA Friendlies in Nepal.
ix.Vairamuthi P was honoured with the AIFF Male Assistant Referee of the Year. He has officiated total 25 matches in the ISL for 2024-25 season. At international level, he has officiated matches in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, AFC U17 Asian Cup 2024, AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers, and AFC Challenge League 2024-25.
x.Riiohlang Dhar was honoured with the AIFF Female Assistant Referee of the Year for 2024-25. She scripted history by officiating at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.
- She had also officiated matches at AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2024 held in Indonesia.
