On 29th May 2020, Wipro appointed Thierry Delaporte, COO of Capgemini, as the new Chief Executive Officer(CEO) and Managing Director(MD) effective from 6th July 2020. He will take over the position from Adidali Neemuchwala who will be stepping down from his position on June 1. The operation of Wipro until July 5th will be monitored by its chairman Rishad Premji. He will be based in Paris and report to Rishad Premji.

i.He got his bachelor’s in Economy and Finance from Sciences Po Paris and his Masters in Law from Sorbonne University.
Career:
i.He started his career as Senior Auditor in Arthur Andersen in Paris and London in 1992.
ii.He was the co-founder and President of the not-for-profit Life Project 4 Youth, an organisation for the professional and social integration of young adults of impoverished regions.
iii.In his 25 years career with Capgemini he was the COO (Cheif Operating Officer)Â and the member of the Executive Board and held roles including CEO of the Global Financial Services Strategic Business Unit and head of global service line.

ii.The Shares of Wipro closed 7% higher after the announcement of appointment of Thierry Delaporte and the scrip of the IT services raised to 7.75% to Rs. 214.75 and closed at Rs. 212.55, 6.65% up.Â
ii.For the past four years, Neemuchwala worked based in Texas had difficulties in acquisitions, client bankruptcies and restructuring of the business in India and West Asia.
