The three day annual Jor Mela held in the sacred memory of Guru Gobind Singh‘s two younger sons- Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh began on 26th of December with the commencement of an Akhand Path. This year marks the 310th year of martyrdom of the brothers.
The first day of Mela was observed purely in religious spirits. Dewans were organised in all Gurdwaras. In the three day Jor Mela lakhs of devotes pay their obeisance at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup.
Second day will be the day of conferences for almost all the political parties.
On the concluding day on December 28, a nagar kirtan will be taken from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup, where the Sahibzadas were cremated.
