The Union Health Ministry has launched a three-day (March 8 to March 10) nationwide campaign for ensuring better health for women on International Women’s Day (March 8). Under the program, special health check-up camps will be held at all district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, and community health centers.
The hospitals will screen and carry out necessary investigations and if needed, will also provide treatment free of cost. All women aged 40-60 years will be screened for breast cancer and between 30-60 years for cervical cancer. Antenatal and postnatal care services will also be provided and Mother and Child Protection cards will be issued to the women.
