At an investment of around Rs.250 crore, Britannia Industries Ltd. (BIL) is planning to set up two new units, one near Erode in Tamil Nadu and another near Bangalore in Karnataka.
• VARUN BERRY, Managing Director of Britannia Industries Ltd said that the new units are likely to be ready by December and will have a total capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum.
• The company will also invest Rs 45 crore towards setting up research and development facility at Bangalore. This facility will focus on innovation and new product development.
• Britannia is also planning to re-launch its “Good Day” brand of biscuits soon. Good Day is the largest selling brand for Britannia, which generated retail revenue of Rs 2,000 crore in 2014-15.

• It sells its Britannia and Tiger brands of biscuit throughout India.
• The Company’s principal activity is the manufacture and sale of biscuits, bread, rusk, cakes and dairy products.

• The company reported a 13 per cent growth in its total income from operations which stood at Rs 2,018.60 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2015.
