On September 22, 2020, Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) Bajaj Finserv stepped into the healthcare sector by launching health tech solutions business “Bajaj Finserv Health Ltd (BFHL)” as its fully-owned subsidiary. This new venture will offer “Aarogya Care” an industry-first product, providing preventive, personalised, prepaid health care packages.
- BFHL aims to improve the health outcomes of Indian consumers by integrating the healthcare delivery ecosystem with technology and financial services through holistic care plans.
Key Points:
-Notably, this venture is using mobile-first approach as “Bajaj Finserv Health App” acts as a personalised health manager, offering consumers a one-stop destination to avail convenient, connected and cost-effective health solutions.
-In this regard, customers would be able to receive and maintain health records digitally, which would be integrated with the National Health ID.
- National Health ID is an electronic repository of all health-related information of a person, created by using a person’s basic details and mobile number or Aadhaar number. It is a part of the National Digital Health Mission.
-BFHL also offers health insurance coverage from Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and pre-approved Health EMI facility from Bajaj Finance.
-It has empanelled 112 hospital partners, which operate 200 hospitals, three diagnostic and laboratory centres with 671 consumer touch points and over 9,000 doctors on the platform.
