On February 17, 2020, A 3-day long 17th edition of Bio Asia 2020, Asia’s largest Biotechnology and Life Sciences Forum with the theme of ‘Today for Tomorrow’ has commenced in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Switzerland is the partner Country for 2020 as part of the annual tradition & around 40-member team comprising industries, academia and start-ups from Switzerland participated in this event.Assam, Kerala, Odisha and Gujarat were the partner states.
Key Points:
i.It is being organized by Government of Telangana, Federation of Asian Biotech Associations(FABA) with event partners Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation(TSIIC), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade(DPIIT).
ii.It saw the participation of around 2,000 delegates from 37 countries, about 800 companies deputing their senior officials, most famous personalities and industry stalwarts from life sciences sectors across the globe.
iii.The event will also set to host the largest exhibition with participation of about 175 exhibitors & will also feature “Start-up Stage” with about 75 shortlisted start-ups from India, Switzerland, Germany, Australia and UK based on the innovativeness of the product or solution, development stage and market readiness.
iv.Switzerland is making innovations in the world of medical healthcare and that many pharmaceutical companies have emerged as the center of Switzerland.while the city of Hyderabad has become a hub in the field of health tech and will be introduced to the Switzerland Health Tech Ecosystem through the Bio Asia Summit.
