On 28th October 2020, Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s 2nd largest public sector bank launched the PNB Tracking & Monitoring Staff Accountability Cases (TMSAC) portal and PNB’s 2020 Vigilance Manual, as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week(VAW) – 27th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020.

Suresh N Patel, Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission, P. Daniel, Secretary-in-charge of Central Vigilance Commission and CH S.S. Mallikarjuna Rao, Managing Director(MD) and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of PNB were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Key Points:
i.With the launch of TMSAC portal and Vigilance manual PNB aims to stay updated and create awareness on preventive vigilance.
ii.These will support the employees and benefit the new joinees to understand the bank policies.
Features of TMSAC Portal:
i.The TMSAC portal tracks and monitors the complaints/Non-Performing Asset (NPA) reference at various stages on a real-time basis.
ii.The portal enables the bank to identify fraud in advance & take immediate action and also helps to improve internal processes.
iii.This will enable a connection between the officers and divisions for sharing of information and will also track the relevant information-onward submission through the Department of Financial Servicecs(DFS) and Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Features of 2020 Vigilance Manual:
i.PNB’s 2020 Vigilance Manual will provide a better understanding of vigilance functions and guidelines.
ii.The manual contains the new initiatives like Preventive Vigilance Monitoring Portal, training sessions to promote vigilance awareness, do’s and don’ts and the recent policy changes.
