Prince Albert II of Monaco made his first Official 2 days Visit to India along with a high level delegation on 4-5 February 2019 to review the bilateral relations between India and Monaco.
India-Monaco Business Forum held in New Delhi
On 4th February 2019, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu addressed India-Monaco Business Forum which was hosted by New Delhi. It was marked by the presence of Monaco’s head of state – Prince Albert II.
Key Points
- Forum was initiated to amplify the bilateral relations between the two countries on various service sectors which can further groom the economic relations between India and Monaco.
- Sectors which were focused about are IT, tourism, medical value travel, transport and logistics, accounting and finance, audio visual, legal communication, environment finance and education.
- There is an immense potential to enhance bilateral trade between India-Monaco. In 2017-2018, the bilateral trade between India and Monaco was USD 3.01 million.
Monaco’s Prince Albert II met President and planted ‘Princess Grace Rose’ in Mughal Gardens
On 5th February 2019, The Prince of Monaco met President, Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and planted a Princess Grace Rose in Mughal Gardens in the memory of his late mother.
President, Ram Nath Kovind presented a book on Asiatic lion to the Prince Albert II along with the picture of Prince’s visit to ‘Maitri’ which is a Research Centre of India in Antarctica.
Prince Albert II and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi hold talks on bilateral cooperation in the field of environment, climate change and renewable energy
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi met the head of the state of Monaco, Prince Albert II on 5th February 2019 at Hyderabad House, New Delhi to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade and cooperation in the field of environment, climate change and renewable energy.
External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj also met Prince Albert II and held talks to enhance cooperation key areas including renewable energy, investment into India, smart cities.
