On December 23, 2020 NTPC Limited(formerly- National Thermal Power Corporation Limited won ‘Excellence’ award in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Domain in 15th CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2020.
In addition to this, NTPC has also received Commendation for Significant Achievement in the category of Corporate Excellence.
- NTPC wins the CII-ITC Sustainability Award in the corporate excellence category for consecutive second time.
- NTPC is the only PSU to receive the award in the Corporate Excellence category.

Excellence in CSR is the highest award conferred by CII-ITC in the CSR domain.

NTPC’s CSR Activities & Agriculture Project:
i.The core areas of NTPC’s CSR activities include Education, Health, Sanitation and Drinking Water.
ii.The impact of NTPC’s Agriculture Project has enhanced the farmers income by 50% to 300% in the last few years. The project has also increased household income ect.,
- The project also complements the Government of India’s target of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.
