Hello Readers
The SBI Clerk Main exam 2016 is starting tomorrow with two shifts on 25 and 26 June 2016. Please do not take the Main exam lightly; otherwise you will have to start again next time with the first level (i.e. Prelim Exam).
After qualifying the Prelim Exam, you are going to move on second step of the ladder which will lead you to be a SBI Clerk soon.

dream
As of now you all must stop preparing the new things. And please just do not listen to any friend that what topics he/she has done because if you get any topics which you have not done, you can come in a state of tension.
This time there is no need to divide the time for each section as the structure of main examination would be as follows:

S.NoName of testNo. of QuestionsMarksDuration
1General/Financial Awareness505035 minutes
2General English404035 minutes
3Quantitative Aptitude505045 minutes
4Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude506045 minutes
Total1902002 Hours 40 minutes

In the Main exam the sections are already divided in time as you see in above table. But yes you need to decide that in which order, you are going to attempt different sections. So here is an advice that choose the easy sections in between the difficult ones. Do not go with Reasoning and Quant section together. Rather keep GK section in between.
English section should be attempted first because while attempting it, you must not be exhausted and in a state of tension. Let me explain you with an example. If you do not attempt more in any section you will become exhausted and you will try to attempt more questions in English section which can become wrong and give you negative marking. so avoid that.

The way, the sections should be attempted is:

Quant Section
If Simplification questions are there, start with these questions. In Clerk Prelim Exam, quadratic equations were not asked, so it is expected that in Main Exam the questions from this topic will be asked, so next move on to this and do all the 5 questions. Next you can go for DI which seems to be easy and questions that not contain much calculation. In miscellaneous questions, select the questions of topics in which you are good at – select questions from averages, ages, partnership, probability, etc. according to your ease. 2-3 questions from 5 number series questions remain are easy to attempt.

Reasoning section
In Clerk Prelim Exam, Syllogism was not asked so this time it is expected to be asked. Start with syllogism questions. Then do inequalities, miscellaneous questions (blood relation, direction sense, etc.), coding decoding.
Next choose the easy puzzle. Do not waste time in puzzles in which all confusing information is given (like A does not like red color, B does not live on 2nd floor). Just leave these kinds of puzzles because at the end they will leave you empty handed (no questions solved and time waste). Questions from Statement- Arguments, Statement-Assumptions will also be asked, read the statements very carefully, and if you are very sure, only then mark the answer.

English Section
Many students are not good at this section, so for those an advice is mark only those answers which you are very much sure about so that at least you can clear the sectional cutoff.
Reading Comprehension as asked in Clerk Prelim Exam was story based. So if this time also it comes like that try to do most of the questions, otherwise do only the synonyms and antonyms. Next move on to cloze test. Then rearrangement questions – if it is also story based try to do them all but if not story based and not easy to understand at least mark the answer of question in which 1st sentence is being asked (this can be easily known). Then do remaining questions – error finding, sentence improvement, spell checks, etc. as are asked. There is much time for this section, but this does not mean that you mark all the answers.

Computers Section
This section is expected to be easy. This time this section is mixed with Reasoning section with 60 questions, so questions can be expected in ratio 35 : 25 or 40 : 20 in Reasoning and Computer respectively.

General Awareness Section
This section is easy for those who are continuously reading current affairs and questions related to them. Static GA also makes a very important part. Carefully read the questions. Sometimes you do not know the answer of a question, but then also you can attempt it. I am talking about some questions and not all. But how? Judge which options just do not fit the answer, so remove them as your answer, and mark the one left.

Start with English Section, then Reasoning and Computers, then GK and last Quant, or as you wish but in between Reasoning and Quant section take an easy section so that mind can relax for some time in between.

Make your own strategy and go on the one which you found at your ease while practicing in Mock Tests. If you see any question taking more time, do not stick to the question. Just leave it, might be next two questions are very easy which might be left because of that stupid question taking more time. Try to find the easy questions and solve them
Go with your own strategy which you applied in mock tests.

ACCURACY should be the main aim along with maximum attempts.

Do not forget to take the Admit Card with photograph affixed, Photo Identity Proof in original and a photo-copy of it (Ration Card and E-Aadhar Card are not accepted). Your name in ID Proof must exactly match with the one you have in your Admit Card.

This time the SBI is strict, read the instructions very carefully. A new point added about what to wear at exam centre, so read it carefully. The 7th point says:

Following dress code has been advised to the candidates

  • Candidates are wearing light cloths which cannot be used for hiding any instruments or communication devices.
  • Candidates are advised to wear half sleeves but not having big buttons or any badge, brooches etc. which could be used to hide the communication device, blue tooth, camera, etc.
  • Candidates are wearing slippers, sandals and not the shoes.

However, candidates coming in customary/ religious dresses should report at the centre at least 10 minute prior to reporting time for proper frisking.

Last but not the least, please do not forget to share your exam reviews with us. We will be happy to know that how you performed.
