Indian Shooter jiturai bagged gold at ISSF World cup held in Bangkok Thailand. Shooters will put upon test their form ahead of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will start in September this year.
- Rai clinched gold in the men’s 50m pistol event shooting World Cup. Jitu scored 191.3 points in the final round.
- Former World champion Pang Wei of China took second place with 186.5 who will clinch Silver in the event. Olympic medallist Wang Zhiwei, also of China, finished third with a final round score of 165.8.
The Feet to Gold:
- Jitu reached the final by finishing third at the end of the 60 shot qualifying series with a score of 562.India’s Prakash Nanjappa shot 549 in the qualification round to be placed 17th.
- Pang Wei of China commanded the field of eight top qualifiers scoring 564, while Chinese Shooter Wang Zheiwei followed him in second place scoring 563.
Jitu Rai
- Rai is an Indianshooter of Nepalese origin and participates in the 10 metre and 50 metre air pistol
- This is the Rai’s5th World Cup medal and a second in the 50m Pistol event.
He had won the Silver in this event at the 2014 Maribor World Cup and he also has a Gold, Silver and a Bronze in the 10m Air Pistol event at World Cups.
