On Nov 4, 2019, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi, has approved the appointed of the senior IPS (Indian Police Service) officer Aditya Mishra as the Chairman of Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) for a period of 5 years. He is a 1989 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.
About LPAI:-
The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) is a statutory body working under the Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Borders) has notified the establishment of the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), under the land ports authority of India Act, 2010, to put in place of security systems related to cross-border movement of passengers, vehicles, goods and also to manage functions of all integrated check posts.
i.The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) came into effect on March 1, 2012. It manage several Integrated Check Posts of all across Borders in India.
