According to the latest Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) ranking (2023), the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), is the top government college in India for pursuing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) course.
- IIM Bengaluru (Karnataka) and IIM Kolkata (West Bengal) are ranked second and third, respectively, after IIM Ahmedabad.
- The top three colleges have remained unchanged since 2022.

The ranking was based on seven criteria: Research, Teaching-Learning Resource Pedagogy, Industry Income and Integration, Placement Performance, Future Orientation, External Perception and International Outlook, & Placement Strategies and Support.

i.The Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), came in first rank among private colleges, followed by the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurugram (Haryana), and Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (Maharashtra).
ii.Further, XLRI was ranked first among the “Top 10 B-Schools for Research in India 2023.”

i.Mittal School of Business at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Jalandhar (Punjab) improved from 84 to 41 in 2023.
ii.MYRA School of Business in Mysuru, Karnataka, climbed 60 spots to 30 in 2023.
iii.The Siva Sivani Institute of Management in Hyderabad, Telangana, moved from the 60th rank in 2022 to the 38th rank in 2023.
iv.The TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), situated in Karnataka, went up from the 17th rank in 2022 to the 7th rank in 2023.

i.The Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad (Telangana), topped the list for “School of Eminence of Employability.” It was followed by XLRI and MDI.
ii.In addition, Symbiosis in Pune, Maharashtra, topped the list of the “Top 10 B-schools under University Programs in India 2023.”[ Business Schools – B-schools].
- It was followed by the Pune-based Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) and TAPMI.
