Union Home Minister (HM) Amit Shah has paid a 2- day visit to Gujarat from January 11-12, 2020. He arrived at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and then addressed the 9th convocation function of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) & also attended the event at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar to digitally launch India’s 1st cyber AASHVAST (Assured Assistance Service Helpline for Victims at Shortest Time ) & project VISHWAS (Video Integration and State Wide Advanced Security). Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated India’s 1st Cyber Crime Prevention Unit called ‘AASHVAST’ (Assured Assistance Service Helpline for Victims at Shortest Time ) which is a helpline for cyber crime victims.
Project VISHWAS:
A major e-governance initiative Project VISHWAS (Video Integration and State Wide Advanced Security) was also launched with the aim to improve the Law and Order Management, Proactive traffic management and control, Crime detection through video analytics and Post incident Investigation and video forensics.
Key Points:
i.It was initiated by then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2013-14 with a network of 279 CCTV (Closed Circuit Television ) cameras installed in public places.Totally at 1256 sites 7000 CCTVs installed at 34 district Headquarter & 7 tourism sites.
ii.Earlier in January 2020, Amit Shah dedicated National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal ” www.cybercrime.gov.in” to the Nation in New Delhi & also inaugurated Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).
