The Union Minister of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences Health & Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan, released the Action Agenda for Atma Nirbhar Bharat (AAAN) prepared by Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) in New Delhi. The document provided the recommendations focusing towards local to global to revive the Indian economy.
- It should be noted that earlier TIFAC prepared a report namely “Focused Interventions for ‘Make in India’: post COVID -19’ providing foresight towards the understanding of technology interventions in key sectors (Healthcare, Machinery, ICT, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Electronics) for boosting the economy.
- The recommendations are provided in the identified domains of innovation and technology development, technology adoption/diffusion, boosting up manufacturing and productivity, trade and globalization, internet policy and data management & education and training.

The document also specifically defines policy recommendations in identified domains of Innovation and Technology development, Technology Adoption/Diffusion, Boosting up Manufacturing and Productivity, Trade and Globalization, Internet Policy and Data Management & Education and Training, AI & Information and Communication Technology among others. Some of the key recommendations in domains are listed below
–Development of Phase Zero Programme
–Adoption of Circular Economy Strategy
–Support for indigenous development medical equipment like: Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP), C Arm, X-ray IOT sensors Cath lab MRI etc.
–Creation of ecosystem for the propagation of Industry 4.0 by every Indian manufacturer by 2025
–To create Centers of Product Development (CPDs) and equipped with design, manufacture, assembly and testing infrastructure along with requisite laboratory infrastructure.
–To set up operational standards for 5- G.
–Designing of Indian cloud & security standards and protocol.
–Linking of Mandis to Electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) by networking with existing Agricultural Produce & Livestock Market Committee (APMCs).
