In Bihar:
Temple Inauguration: On September 3, 2025, Bhutan PM Dasho Tshering Tobgay participated in the consecration ceremony of the Royal Bhutan Templeat Rajgir in Nalanda (Bihar) in the presence of Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), and representatives of India and Bhutan.
Nalanda University: He visited Nalanda University at Nalanda and proposed the expansion of cooperation through academic exchanges, scholarships, and cultural ties, and invited Nalanda University to join the Global Peace Prayer Festival of Bhutan.
Mahabodhi Temple: On September 4, 2025, he visited the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya (Bihar), a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site(WHS).
Ram Janmabhoomi temple: On September 5, 2025,  Bhutan PM Dasho Tshering Tobgay and his delegation visited Ram Janmabhoomi temple at Ayodhya (UP), marking the first visit by a foreign leader to this temple.
Outcomes of the Visit:On September 6, 2025, Adani Power Limited (APL), India’s largest private power producer, signed an agreement with Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) of Bhutan, for the establishment of a 570-Megawatt (MW) Wangchhu hydroelectric project in Bhutan.

Maharashtra leads the market for small business credit: SIDBI-CRIF reportIn September 2025, the joint report “Small Business Spotlight”, released by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and credit bureau CRIF High Mark, provided an in-depth understanding of the lending trends among small businesses.

  • Maharashtra remained the largest market with Rs 6.0 lakh crore in outstanding credit, while Tamil Nadu (Rs 4.21 lakh crore), Gujarat (Rs 3.69 lakh crore), Uttar Pradesh (Rs 3.61 lakh crore), and Karnataka (Rs 3.18 lakh crore) round out the top five by portfolio size.
  • Uttar Pradesh registered highest outstanding portfolio growth of 20.7% on a year-on-year basis.

Key Highlights
Geographic Analysis:
Portfolio Outstanding: Top five states collectively accounted for 46% of the total portfolio outstanding as of June 2025.
District wise: Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru lead in portfolio outstanding, contributing 4.4%, 3.8%, and 3.0% respectively to the national portfolio as of June 2025.

  • Jaipur and Ahmedabad posted the highest YoY growth among top districts, at 19.1% and 19.0% respectively.

Rural-Urban: As of June 2025, urban regions continue to account for the largest share of total portfolio outstanding at 51.9% and rural exposure at 29.0%.
Segmental performance analysis:

  • Sole Proprietors – They contributed to over 75% of the outstanding small business credit and more than 85% of active loans.
  • Enterprises – It recorded the highest portfolio growth, with a 24.7% YoY increase in outstanding credit
  • Sole Proprietors with Entity Presence – They experienced the fastest growth in borrower count, rising by 9.3% YoY.

NBWL Approves Proposal to Integrate Matla, Raidighi, Ramganga with Sundarbans Tiger Reserve

In August 2025, the Standing Committee of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC), chaired by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, MoEFCC, approved the West Bengal(WB) government’s proposal to integrate three forest ranges such as Matla, Raidighi, and Ramganga from the South 24 Parganas district of approximately 1,044.68 Square Kilometre (Sq. Km) into the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve (STR).

  • With this move, the reserve areas increase to around 3,629.57 sq.km, making it India’s 2nd largest TR, following Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam TR (Andhra Pradesh, AP) with approximately 3,727.82 Sq Km.

Expansion of Sundarbans TR: 
Better Management: The integration of the forest ranges, brings these tiger-inhabited areas under unified management, enabling better implementation of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) guidelines, efficient patrolling, and allocation of funds from the Government of India (GoI).

  • It facilitates the designation of core or buffer zones for more structured conservation efforts.

Tiger Population: According to the latest census, the STR hosts an estimated 101 tigers: 80 within the current Tiger Reserve and 21 in the adjoining South 24 Parganas forests.
Recognition:In 1987, It was designated a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site(WHS).

Kongsberg Maritime Signs a Contract for India’s First Electric Tug at Deendayal Port in Gujarat
On September 7, 2025, Kongsberg Maritime, a technology company, signed an agreement with Mandovi Drydocks, in partnership with Ripley Group to provide a fully integrated equipment package for India’s first electric tug at Deendayal Port in Kandla (Gujarat), marking a major milestone in the Green Tug Transition Programme (GTTP) of India.

Green Tug Transition Programme (GTTP):  This initiative focuses on reducing carbon emissions within port operations by transitioning to electric and hybrid propulsion systems. The electric tug will be one of the first milestones under this programme.

PNB Signs MoU with Rajasthan to Invest Rs.21,000 Crores under ‘Rising Rajasthan’
In September 2025, Punjab National Bank (PNB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan, with a commitment to invest Rs.21,000 crores under the state’s ‘Rising Rajasthan’ initiative.

Ministry of Coal Organized Star Rating Awards Ceremony for 2023-24; NLCIL Mines Achieve Top HonorsIn September 2025, the Ministry of Coal organised the Star Rating Award Ceremony for 2023-24, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to honour outstanding coal and lignite mines for their exceptional performance in safety, environmental sustainability, and operational excellence.

  • Union Minister Gangapuram (G.) Kishan Reddy, Ministry of Coal attended the event as Chief Guest, along with Union Minister of State (MoS) Satish Chandra Dubey, Ministry of Coal ; and Vikram Dev, Secretary, Ministry of Coal.

Highlights of Star Rating Award Ceremony for 2023-24:
Award Presentation: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy presented the 5-Star awards to the top-performing mines.
Total Mines Surveyed: MoC surveyed a total of 383 mines for the star rating for year 2023-24.
Distribution: Out of 383 mines surveyed, 42 mines have received 5-star rating i.e. scoring more than 93%.

  • Further, among these 42 mines, 4 mines secured 1st rank, 3 mines secured 2nd rank, and 6 mines achieved 3rd rank, while the remaining 29 mines received the Achievers prize.
