Korea’s ‘Artificial Sun’ Sets Record For Sustaining Plasma At 100 Million Degree Celsius
South Korea’s superconducting fusion device, the Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR), also known as the “artificial sun” at the Korea Institute of Fusion Energy (KFE), set a new world record in the nuclear fusion experiment by sustaining a plasma loop to 100 million degrees Celsius for 48 seconds.
