Union MoS Jitendra Singh Announces Rs.720 Crore Quantum Fabrication & Central Facilities at IIT BombayIn November 2025, Union Minister of State(MoS) (Independent Charge, IC) Dr Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science & Technology (MoS&T) announced the establishment of four Quantum Fabrication & Central Facilities, at the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Bombay, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
About Quantum Fabrication & Central Facilities:
Quantum Infrastructure: The facilities were launched under the National Quantum Mission (NQM) with a total investment of Rs. 720 crore.
Institutional Coverage: The initiative will set up advanced quantum facilities at four major institutions: IIT Bombay (Maharashtra), Indian Institute of Science (IISc)Bengaluru (Karnataka), IIT Delhi (Delhi), and IIT Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh, UP).
Key Highlights: During the event, Union MoS (IC) Dr. Jitendra Singh visited the Quantum Research Laboratories at IIT Bombay and officially inaugurated the India’s first Liquid Helium Facility.

MSJE and MoRD Signs MoU to Empower DNTs
In November 2025, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE)  through the Development and Welfare Board for De‑Notified, Nomadic and Semi‑Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC) and the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) through the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY‑NRLM), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to empower De-Notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic (DNT) communities in India.

Indonesia Officially Declared Polio-Free by WHOIn November 2025, World Health Organization (WHO) declared Indonesia is free from type-2 circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus (cVPDV), following the non-reporting of polio virus cases in children or the environment since June 2024.

Measures: The routine immunization coverage for the second dose of Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) increased from 63% to 73% in 2024. As a preventive measure, Indonesia introduced a hexavalent vaccine, which protects against six diseases, including polio.
Wild-Polio Free: As per the WHO’s polio transition report, in 1995, Indonesia stopped indigenous wild poliovirus transmission and was certified wild-polio free in 2014.
About Polio: 
Overview: Poliomyelitis (Polio) is a highly contagious disease caused by poliovirus. It mainly affects children under 5 years of age. It cannot be treated but can be prevented through vaccination.

  • The virus primarily attacks the nervous system, which can lead to paralysis or even death in severe cases.

Spreading: Polio spreads through fecal-oral route while consuming food or water contaminated with infected feces and oral-oral route, rarely through saliva or personal contact.
Types of Polio: It includes Wild Poliovirus (WPV), which naturally occurs and is responsible for historic polio outbreaks worldwide and Vaccine-Derived Poliovirus (VDPV), which rarely occurs when weakened poliovirus in oral vaccines mutates.
Vaccines: It includes Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), which contains a live weakened virus to stop its spread, and the Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV), which contains a killed virus to provide strong individual immunity.

National Cadet Corps Raising Day 2025 – November 23The National Cadet Corps (NCC), the world’s largest uniformed youth organization, celebrates its Raising Day on the 4th Sunday of November to honor its role in shaping young citizens and their contribution to national service.

  • In 2025, NCC Raising Day was observed on 23 November, marking the 77th anniversary of its establishment.

Background
Formation: On 29 September 1946, the Cadet Corps Committee was formed with Pt. H. N. Kunzru as its Chairman.

  • On 15 June 1948, the NCC was officially set up through an ordinance issued by the Government of India(GoI), serving as an auxiliary educational body for the Indian Army(IA) and the Indian Navy(IN).

Observation: NCC Day is celebrated every year on the 4th Sunday of November to mark the establishment of the first NCC units in Delhi in 1947.
